(London) Elton John gave evidence Monday for the defense in the Kevin Spacey sexual assault trial taking place in London.
John appeared remotely from Monaco to give evidence after her husband, David Furnish, said Spacey had only attended the annual gala the singer hosted at his Windsor home once.
One of the alleged victims accused Spacey of aggressively grabbing his crotch when he was driving him to prom in 2004 or 2005.
Spacey testified that he only attended the event in 2001. Furnish had earlier said that after checking photographs that was indeed the only year Spacey attended.
John related that Spacey spent the night at home after the ball the only time he attended.
Kevin Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges including counts of sexual and indecent assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent .
