Producer Joseph Prigogine suggested that Russian artists refused to perform at concerts in Belarus ahead of the presidential elections, because they do not want to participate in the “election campaign any of the candidates”. About it writes RIA Novosti.

“That’s fine. In order not to get under attack of another negative,” explained Prigogine. He noted that it is not money, but the fact that artists don’t want nothing to do with politics.

Prigogine added that in connection with the cancellation of many concerts, the artists are now “hungry for performances,” however, refusal to participate in the festive concert, he believes the right decision. According to the producer, he was with the singer Valeria, too, received an invitation on August 6. He explained that they, in particular, declined the invitation due to the situation with coronavirus.

August 8, on the eve of presidential elections in Belarus, in several cities of the country planned a number of concerts with participation of stars of local and foreign music, including from Russia and Ukraine. However, a few days before the event, many artists refused to perform. Pre-election concerts in support of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko started to cancel due to the failure of artists to participate.
