Russian artists do not want to interfere in the policy of Belarus, which refused concerts in the country before the presidential election, says producer Joseph Prigogine.

We do not want to once again go under the hand, because the vocation of the artist is to make people happy, told RBC Prigogine.

He stressed that it is not the fees, and that currently people had “a keen sense of justice” and the desire to be heard. According to Prigogine, he and his musicians respect of Alexander Lukashenko for what he has done for Belarus, but the people want change.

We decided this time to skip any event related to politics. Later we will participate in all concerts, — said the producer.

Wrote NEWS.ru Russian artists began to refuse to participate in the concert, which was to be held in Belarus the day before the presidential election, 8 Aug. So, Leonid Agutin turned to the Belarusian audience in Facebook and said that he and his musicians would not come to Minsk. Stas Peha, Juliana Karaulova, a group of “Kar-man” also warned that they will participate in the concerts will not. Karaulov referred to the pandemic. Singer Grigory Leps said that is not interested in politics and will act in Belarus, as he was there waiting.

It was planned that the concerts on 8 August in different cities of Belarus will be free for spectators, however, the participation of Russian stars in the events in support of the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko on the background of detention of citizens of Russia was criticized in the Russian and Belarusian networks.
