Water blockade of the Crimea from Ukraine the Peninsula is threatened by humanitarian and environmental disasters, said the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Natalia Poklonskaya. The MP addressed an official letter to the UN high Commissioner for Human rights Michelle Bachelet to take action, reports RIA Novosti.
Taylor recalled that after Crimea became part of Russia, Ukraine shut the North-Crimean canal, which supplied the inhabitants of the Peninsula with drinking water. The Deputy said that a “real threat” to human life, as well as for “the ecology of South-Eastern Europe”.
According to her, for several years suffering ecosystem of the Crimea: soil semalaysia and zavolakivaya, which causes the disappearance of many species of flora and fauna. The decline of soil fertility in turn leads to the deterioration of people’s health.
“we Urge you to take comprehensive measures to ensure all possible ways to restore the functioning of the North-Crimean channel,” the letter reads.
Poklonskaya also stressed that the inhabitants of the Crimea expect a quick response from the representative of the United Nations and is ready at any time to confirm set out in the letter of facts.
Earlier, as reported “the Rambler”, the prosecutors of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya accused of creating a “criminal organization” on the Peninsula. “Accomplices” of the Deputy of the state Duma of the Russian Federation are also the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov.
