Piotrovsky called on to defend the culture of obscurantist

Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky at the meeting of the Public Council for culture said in his opinion, the Constitution should prescribe that culture is a symbol of the nation, it should be supported and protected by the state. This will be the basis of the new legislation on culture. Culture needs to be protected, said Piotrovsky. It needs to be protected from bureaucrats, “which evaluate all the number of visitors, from the crowd, from the obscurantists. You must approve the right of artists to have their own opinion.”
