The first couple getting married in the Main Church of the Armed forces, became the spouses of veterans of the great Patriotic war I. I. and A. N. Kovalev. Correspondent “MK” witnessed the ceremony.
Responsible decision – to marry in an Orthodox ceremony took spouses who have lived together for 58 years. Anatoly Nikiforovich – a blockade, a war veteran, after the war remained in the army, and served in the far East, and Ukraine. With him the garrison life “from Lieutenant to Colonel,” shared the wife.
“I remember dad went to the front left uncle. At the age of 16 years went to the front as a volunteer big sister. Came to Konigsberg. After the war he studied at the Institute. In memory of my elder sister went to work in the Moscow war veterans Committee,” – says Irina innokentyevna.
According to her, she had long dreamed to get married with her husband in the Church. And this dream has come true. At the wedding ceremony was attended by three grandchildren “Bridal” – a rare, if not unique case.
“It’s very symbolic for us because the whole family is military… When I found out that we’ll be the first to Povenets in this Temple, for us, it was great joy and great happiness”, – said Irina innokentyevna.

After the wedding for the couple Kovalev was given a tour of the Main temple of the Armed forces. They could admire the unique details of decoration of the Church – mosaics, stained glass Windows, depicting events of Russian military history.
