According to the Embassy, in a remote from Ulaanbaatar area plague two people got sick.

“Measures were taken immediately by the local authorities. They isolated these people and their possible contacts. Therefore grounds for serious anxiety is not” – said the Embassy.

Diplomats stressed that the settlements, where they were discovered ill, closed, tourists are not there, and recalled the words of the representative of the world health organization (who) in Mongolia Sergey Diorditsa, who said that the plague in the country – a seasonal phenomenon.

“In Mongolia, there are natural foci of plague. The disease spreads by tarraganda. The problem is that the locals, despite the prohibitions and recommendations of the local authorities, they continue to hunt and consume them as food, as it is a local delicacy,” – said the press service of the Russian Embassy.
