Clemens Baumgärtner is an economics officer in Munich and thus Wiesn boss. The Oktoberfest will take place again this year – without corona restrictions. The CSU man now found clear words for the criticism of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach in this regard.

Oktoberfest again at last! In Munich, the Oktoberfest will take place again in 2022 after a two-year Corona break. And without a mask requirement or distance rules. The city made the decision at the end of April. Munich’s Wiesn boss Clemens Baumgärtner (CSU) now found clear words on the sidelines of a Wiesn appointment in the direction of Karl Lauterbach (SPD), who had been critical of the implementation.

“Killer-Virusen-Kalle is back on a ghost train ride. Everywhere is relaxed, all festivals were allowed, but Lauterbach wants to make life mad for us again,” quoted the “Bild” Baumgärtner.

For the CSU politician, the Oktoberfest with corona measures is not up for debate. “Maybe his ramblings are trying to distract from problems in his ministry or declining popularity ratings. But: The Wiesn will take place, no matter what horror scenarios Lauterbach is now painting on the wall again.

The planning for the Oktoberfest is already in full swing. The first tent is already being set up on the Theresienwiese in Munich. This year the tapping is on September 17th.
