The Alliance and Ukraine agreed to strengthen the NATO presence in the Black sea, reported on the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of defense.

During a telephone conversation of the Minister of defense of Ukraine Andrei Taran and Secretary-General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, noted the deterioration of security in the Black sea due to the increase of Russia’s military presence, specified in the message.

The parties agreed to increase the presence of forces and means, on land, at sea and in the airspace of the black sea region, the Ministry said. In particular, we will enhance patrolling in the air and the increase in the number of ships of the naval forces of the countries-members of the Alliance in the region.

In June of the current year Ukraine joined the partnership enhanced NATO’s capabilities.
