NATO Secretary General against the idea of Macron to create a European system of nuclear deterrence

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg opposed the idea of the President of France Emmanuel Makron to create a European system of nuclear deterrence. The Secretary General explained that the necessary protection already provides NATO have common command structure, common doctrine, joint training exercises, says the Agency TASS with reference to the German media.

in Addition, Stoltenberg urged France to join the nuclear planning Group of NATO.

Previously, Emmanuel macron said that France reduce its nuclear Arsenal to 300 warheads. The President is confident that this move allows France to demand the same from other States which possess weapons of mass destruction.

the macron added that the strategic forces of France are purely for defense. He also urged other countries to play a role in the system of nuclear deterrence and to participate in the relevant exercises of the armed forces of France.
