As noted in the Ministry of labor, the unemployment rate was in April 2020, 5.8% of the labour force has increased by 1.1 percentage points compared to April last year. By the end of may 2020, the number of officially registered unemployed amounted to 2 143,48 thousand. Compared to April 2020 the number of unemployed registered in the employment service increased by 832,46 thousand 63.5% (in April 2020 for registration was 1 311,02 thousand people).

In 39 regions the registered unemployment rate at the end of may 2020, according to the operative data, was below the national average. Least of all the unemployed in may was in Sakhalin region (0.73% of the workforce), Lipetsk region (1,36%), Tambov region (1,47%), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district (1,57%), Sevastopol (1,57%), Belgorod region (1,62%), Kaluga region (1.79 per cent), the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district (1,80%), Kamchatka Krai (1,83%), Tula region (1,87%).

the highest level of registered unemployment was observed in the Republic of Tuva (of 12.91%), the Republic of Ingushetia (of 9.84%), the Republic of Altai (6,41%), Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (6,14%), the Republic of Buryatia (5,17%), the Republic of Karelia (4,49%), Vologda region (4,41%), the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (4,20%), Kaliningrad region (3,86%).

the Coefficient of tension (the number of unemployed citizens consisting on the registration account in the state employment agencies per 100 vacancies declared by employers to the employment services) in Russia in General increased from 52 per 100 vacancies at the end of may 2019 to 184 people per 100 vacancies at the end of may 2020.

as of 16 June 2020 the number of officially registered unemployed amounted to 2 493,8 thousand people, and if��the EU ETS vacancies declared by employers to the employment service, amounted to 1 429,5 thousand units.
