The more Elon Musk and SpaceX are thinking about the colonization of Mars, the more calls to the network about the number of people necessary to ensure that this process occurred in principle. And here, almost to the day, scientists from the University of Bordeaux were established, what number of people needed for it.
Interestingly, in order to obtain a finite number, the researchers used a mathematical model, which draws on the time required to achieve certain indicators for long-term survival to the time of the lives of those early settlers. In addition, the model is able to take into account a very important variable factor: the action performed by multiple people reduces the time to achieve a specific goal.
In the end, the number named by scientists, was much less that could assume many of us. In order that humanity could colonize Mars, the red planet will be enough to send about 110 people.
