In India the workers during excavation works in the village of 250 Kodumaal found mysterious megalithic structures, which, presumably, are the articles of faith of the ancient people to the afterlife.

About the opening told local newspaper the Hindu. Strange megalithic structures were discovered near the river Noyyal. About it the locals notified the authorities. To the village arrived archaeologist, under whose leadership the workers excavated.

All in the village Kodumaal was discovered 250 mysterious circles, which were made of large stones. Their exact age has not been determined. However, the head of the excavation of George. Ranjit from the State Department of archaeology, Chennai, noted that this place was a large trade and industrial center. He flourished from about V to I century BC.

Inside most of the megalithic circles were found stone sarcophagi and funerary items, including pots and bowls. The sarcophagi are of the correct rectangular shape. They are more like boxes. And in some circles was found rather massive boxes. Their length is about six meters and a width of approximately two meters.

Ranjit suggests that megalithic circles could be some sort of tomb. The biggest of them probably belonged to the head of the community. The analysis showed that the pots and bowls were originally filled with corn. This indicates that the local people believed in the afterlife and supplied the dead with food.

Interestingly, the stone sarcophaguses is focused strictly on the East and West. Inside the circles were also found various artifacts, for example, beads, pieces of gold, bronze needle, tiles, fragments of carnelian, quartz and Jasper. In addition, it was found the skull of the animal. Presumably, he could belong to the wolf or dog.
