MOSCOW, may 4 – RIA Novosti. Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is unlikely to pay attention to the “clownish antics” of the Ukrainian Ambassador, who offered him a bet on the return of Crimea, says member of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak.

Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Andrey Melnik told the Ukrainian media that suggested the ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard schröder to bet on the return of Kyiv to the Crimea. Earlier, Schroeder in an interview with Tagesspiegel expressed the opinion that no Russian President will never give the Crimea to Ukraine. The former Chancellor also called for the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the EU in 2014, and stressed that cooperation with Moscow is particularly necessary in the current economic situation.

“the Ukrainian diplomat should not have to compete with a political heavyweight Gerhard Schroeder, who not only knows the history of Russia, but also well versed in the laws of geopolitics. Clown antics Ukrainian Ambassador is unlikely to be the subject of attention of the distinguished German politician,” – said Zhelezniak RIA Novosti.

According to him, Ukrainian politicians really want to attract the attention of the West, and the most familiar way is a constant attempt to discuss the topic of ownership of the Crimea.

“the most sensible and experienced politicians, which, of course, is Mr. Schroeder, it is clear that the Crimea with Russia forever,” – said the Deputy.

“as for the ownership of the Crimea, we patiently continue to explain to the Ukrainian side that the decision on the reunification of the Crimea with Russia made by citizens in a referendum. Like this official Kiev or not, this constant will remain unchanged. And his energy to Ukrainian figures, it was worth paying for the benefit of citizens and support the economy of Ukraine”, – said the Deputy.
