Moscow to help Kiev with fires near Chernobyl

Russia ready to help Ukraine in a situation with fires in the Chernobyl area, but requests have not yet been, said the official representative of the MFA of Russia Maria Zakharova.

“We are monitoring the situation with forest fires, I mentioned this topic today. We are talking about the area of Chernobyl. At the moment requests from the Ukrainian side about the provision of any assistance we have received. If the Ukrainian colleagues will receive the appropriate treatment, will be ready to consider it according to traditional diplomatic practice,” – reports RIA “Novosti” her appeal.

According to Zakharova, Moscow is ready for contacts with Kyiv and the preservation of the Russia – Belarus – Ukraine on this topic, if it will not be politicized.

According to the foreign Ministry of Russia, Moscow continues to monitor the situation with the fires at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Recall, April 4, in the territory of the exclusion zone at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was on fire for the elimination of which attracted about 130 firefighters and two aircraft. By April 7, the area of the fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone increased to 35 hectares a gust of wind, later the fire was extinguished, but on 16 April, the fire renewed from-for a strong wind.
