Moldovan authorities want to resume the program of cooperation with IMF

Moldova have successfully completed the program of cooperation with the International monetary Fund (IMF), so that the country can now sign a new cooperation program with the Fund, said the head of government ion chicu.

the IMF arrived in Moldova on a working visit on January 22, headed by Ruben Ataana.

the President of Moldova Igor Dodon discussed with the IMF associated with the completion of 20 March duration of the program of cooperation issues and, in his words, both parties came to a common opinion that it was generally implemented successfully.

“Moldova is one of the few countries that has managed to successfully bring the program with the IMF until the end, especially considering that the set conditions were very difficult. I say that it is completed because nothing can affect the results of the cooperation. We agreed with Mr. Ataana that I will send a letter to the IMF and ask to be after March we were visited by the IMF mission to discuss a new program with the Fund”, — said the Prime Minister.

Kiku thanked the IMF for the flexibility that has allowed the Moldovan authorities to act in the interests of the country. The Prime Minister also stressed that he discussed with Ataana the next steps that need to be taken to the signing of a new Memorandum with the IMF on cooperation.
