Some of the children who have the greatest need for nødpasning and safe environment at this time, is left behind in the homes and families that are already hard pressed. Although the municipalities ‘ day care is open for children at risk, so they will not be used.

mothers ‘ aid will problematized that the most vulnerable children are now living in isolation and because of coronakrisen gets hit twice as hard.

“I am extremely concerned about a large group of children, who right now is at home in families that are pressed over the edge of the coronakrisen,” says Ninna Thomsen, director of the Danish mothers ‘ aid in a press release.

“They are in urgent need of day care, so they can get a break from everyday life in their families, where mum and dad have it extra hard now. The many families we speak with in the Danish mothers ‘ aid, are close to tipping over the edge.”

Right now local governments nødpasning open to the disadvantaged children, but according to the organization, using the most vulnerable are not the offer.

The case of families, where the economy, for example, does not hang together. Where there is not afford medicine, and there is no internet, which means that the children can not go on Aula.

another example is a family with a mother who is mentally destroyed after a violent relationship. She has not the energy to deal with children’s conflicts and the reactions to the new everyday life in the home.

the Municipalities must therefore actively seek out, inform and help them on the way, to children in day care. The responsibility of the failure of many municipalities, believes the Danish mothers ‘ aid.

“I believe that the municipalities must do much more to reach out and make the vulnerable parents aware of nødpasningsordningerne for the kids,” says Ninna Thomsen.

While many families have challenges with finding balance in the new life, where the children are home from school and day care, at risk of isolation to be directly harmful to the most vulnerable children’s wellbeing and development.

for this reason calls on the Danish mothers ‘ aid urges the Parliament to put the children first, when Denmark and hopefully soon will gradually open up. Until then, should all municipalities to ensure that they make a consistent tracing and help to the vulnerable and pressured families.

“We are failing the children by leaving them in such a vulnerable and potentially harmful framework,” says Ninna Thomsen.
