The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at the meeting with members of the public in the Kamchatka territory reported a decline in the number of young people in the region and called for a return to the Peninsula romance of the Soviet era.

He noted that in the 70-ies of the last century in Kamchatka, lived more than 400 thousand people, 30% of whom were youth. According to the head of the Cabinet, currently in the region there are about 60 thousand young people under the age of 30, approximately 10% less than in Soviet times.

"I think that together we need to think very seriously: what we could do to make the people came here because of the unique nature of the Far East and specifically in Kamchatka is amazing. And the romance, which at the time were people, our grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers, who came and who built this wonderful region, perhaps she needs to return to the hearts of our children, and the hearts of the young people we are waiting on the Kamchatka", – said Mishustin.
