Minsk expressed dissatisfaction with Moscow, which in the opinion of the Belarusian side did not fulfill its obligations on settlement prices for gas. This was stated by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko.

the Ambassador recalled that in April 2017 Belarus signed with Russia’s Gazprom Protocol, which had been prescribed steps to settle the price of energy. Until the end of 2018, the parties were to agree on the method of pricing in the Union state and, in fact, the creation of a unified gas market. Thereafter, until July 1, 2019 must be agreed and signed at the national level the agreement on gas prices from January 1, 2020, and then have to enter a perpetual agreement. According to Semashko, the Russian side, the Protocol did not fulfill.

the Ambassador noted that now the price delivered to Belarus gas at twice that applied in the Smolensk region, which causes dissatisfaction of the Minsk.

“Today, I tell you frankly, we are not satisfied with the price that is, and the failure of our colleagues of the agreement,” Semashko was quoted by the Agency “BelTA”.

At the same time, he added, between Belarus and Russia have an understanding on the issue of price equalization, and the parties will be able to solve this problem by 2022.
