To the indescribable delight of many graduates of the school, not to mention their teachers and parents, Ministry of education decided to abandon the introduction of a third mandatory exam for foreign languages. To enter it was expected in 2022. But the government, citing the opinion of “many experts” has refused this idea, without specifying at the same time, than those who justify their position.

That is: “Language does not know.”

The increasing need for language skills were tested and not leaving limits of Russia — for study, for work, for self-development. And then in the beginning it was decided to begin the study of foreign languages in secondary schools from the 2nd class, and then test the acquired knowledge on a mandatory exam for foreign languages.

the idea, as usual, there were both supporters and opponents. But if the first, as a rule, belonged to residents of large, especially the capital cities, the second part was presented by the Outback. And, not because of the stagnancy and backwardness of some of the “bear corners”. Just found out that to teach foreign languages to exam in some English passed everything, not a handful of graduates, from an early age engaged with the Tutors, no one. And the further from the capitals is one or the other school, the more there is this problem.

However, in capitals, not everything is perfect. Too many of our teachers have studied their subjects at a time when foreign languages were of no use to us (see above) and these “knowledge” are now his disciples. Those who know the language well, actively poach from schools of different companies and firms. And they do it very successfully. The result — an acute problem of quality of training.

Quickly realizing it, society has become more and more actively oppose the introduction of a mandatory exam for foreign languages. However, as in the case of the euphemism “Read and translate with a dictionary” is clear and understandable: “do not know the language”, it is also preferred to speak allegorically: “This exam contradicts the Strategy of Russia’s national security and interests of the country” and in addition go “to the detriment of the study of the Russian language, mathematics, history and other subjects,” said, for example, recently, the national parents Committee.

Many of this argument puzzled, but the seriousness of the problem�� not removed. Meanwhile, the protests closer to 2022 only grew. And here is the result: “following extensive discussions with community members and experts of the Ministry of education,- as said before in the Department, has prepared a draft order according to which the foreign language is not compulsory subjects of the state final certification of students. Position is based on numerous experts against the introduction of compulsory exam in a foreign language. However, he will remain in the number of subjects which students pass on their own choice.”

However, the Ministry stressed that “this project will pass all the necessary stages of approval, including public comment, and final decision will be taken only after completion of all approval procedures”. But all understand: the outcome of discussion is a foregone conclusion.

But in fact it is necessary not to all Russians. So to put the knowledge of foreign languages on a par with the state language or with knowledge of mathematics is not necessary.
