The Committee of the Bundestag on energy has urged the Federal government to prepare proposals by Germany and the EU in response to US sanctions against "Nord stream — 2," said in a statement issued following the meeting of the Committee.

"At its 78th meeting today, the Committee on economy and energy under the chairmanship of Klaus Ernst (left) discussed the issue of the threat of extraterritorial sanctions by the United States in relation to the pipeline project "Nord stream — 2".
