German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not agree to participate in the G7 summit, the newspaper Politico, citing the official representative of the German government. Earlier, the US President and the organizer of the meeting of the leaders of "Big seven" offered in full-time format.
"Given the General situation with the pandemic coronavirus, the Chancellor of Germany is forced to give up personal presence in Washington," – citing a source, writes RIA Novosti.
It was originally planned that the summit of G7 will take place on 10-12 June. Later the White house admitted that the meeting will be held before the end of the month.
