Arrived in the Crimea a group of MPs, politicians and public figures from European countries in the morning went round the polling stations and the vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. And the main impression was the high turnout at the polling stations fixed by the morning of 1 July.

deputies of the European Parliament started with a visit to a polling station in Simeiz, located in the local village club, and in Alupka, located in the school № 1 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan. Guests could not get around this fact with attention and laid flowers to the monument to the legendary pilot ACE. But locals greeted the guests loaves. The head of delegation, member of the European Parliament Committee on foreign Affairs, President of the Association “Franco-Russian dialogue” Thierry Mariani admitted that he was surprised by the organization of the voting process from the point of view of observance of sanitary rules.

– For the Crimea today’s vote is an opportunity to reaffirm the choice that was made in 2014, – said Mariani. – The future of the country is elected by the people, not a group of people. Europe does not want and does not want to recognize the will of Crimean people in 2014 to secede from Ukraine and join Russia. But we once again see that everything is distributed in the EU, the data about the occupation of the Peninsula – far-fetched: in the Crimea more likely to get sunstroke than meet the military.

A Deputy in the Parliament of Berlin Gunnar Lindeman noted that the high turnout in the Crimea was 70 percent as of the morning of the first of July – says that the referendum is democratic.

– Technically everything was well organised for us sanitary measures are important, and we wanted to see how it will be organized in Russia in terms of coronavirus pandemic, said Lindemann. – We wanted to learn how to organize elections in Germany next year. In Crimea, everything is thought out: there are gloves and masks, and people can come and vote without putting themselves at risk.

to Remind, in the Crimea arrived the delegation of international experts, which included members of the European Parliament, national parliaments, political party leaders and journalists from France, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Germany. Foreign visitors in the day the popular vote visited polling stations in Yalta and Simferopol to familiarize yourself with the procedure of Crimeans vote on amendments to the Constitution.
