“it Was very unexpected to receive congratulations from President Dmitry Medvedev. I honestly at first did not believe it. Thank you for not forgetting us old folks. For us there is nothing more valuable than attention,” shared the veteran his impressions after the meeting.

Medvedev also called Constantine the Citizen, the member of the famous parade of November 7, 1941 on red square in Moscow. He served in the NKVD, it was twice deployed to the front line. And in 2010 he became the only representative of the Krasnodar veterans participating in the Parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany.

“this year is a special festival, takes place in difficult conditions, but the festive mood is still there. We, the veterans, did not remain without attention, and it is important for us”, – he said. According to him, Dmitry Medvedev during a telephone conversation also told him about my Kuban roots. “It turns out that our land is dear to him. We talked about our employment biographies”, – said Konstantin Citizen.

Note that in the Kuban fought grandfather of Dmitry Medvedev – Athanasius Fedorovich. In late 1944 he was awarded the medal “For defense of Caucasus”. After the war he became Chairman of the kolkhoz in the village of Korenovsk, and then headed the regional Committee of the Communist party of Krasnodar region.

Another veteran, who congratulated Medvedev – Aleksandr Pushkarev – met victory Day in military school. But after graduation he was in military intelligence on Sakhalin, where the fighting was still going on and had to fight with the Japanese and to the two injured.

Another veteran, who called the Chairman of “United Russia” – Vadim Boluchevsky. He participated in the battle of Stalingrad, came to Bucharest. Now Serafim Boluchevsky is one of the most active volunteers of Krasnodar.

Recall that the “United Russia” carries out the action “call a veteran”, in which state Duma deputies, senators, regional parliamentarians and party members at all levels congratulate the veterans in all regions of the Victory Day.
