Media Afghan authorities have freed a third group of prisoners of the Taliban

MOSCOW, 12 APR – RIA Novosti. The national security Council of Afghanistan has announced the release from prison 100 members of the radical movement “Taliban”, reports the TV station TOLO News.

According to TV channel, this is the third group released.

Earlier it was reported that the government released 200 prisoners of the Taliban.

In late February at a ceremony in Qatar, the US and the Taliban signed their first for more than 18 years of war a peace agreement, which provides for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan in 14 months and the beginning of an intra-Afghan dialogue in March after a transaction for the exchange of prisoners.

Previously it was assumed that the process of liberation will begin March 31, but the representative of national security Council of Afghanistan Javid Faisal said that the parties continue discussions. Later, Afghan authorities and representatives of radical movement “Taliban” have agreed to begin exchange of prisoners and captured April 2, however, the process was again postponed. The seventh of April, the Taliban announced the suspension of talks with the Afghan government on the issue of exchange of prisoners due to the fact that the release of Taliban prisoners continues to be delayed.
