Matvienko commented on the blocking of the resolution on the easing of sanctions

MOSCOW, 24 APR – RIA Novosti. The decision of Ukraine and other States to block proposed in the UN by Russia of the resolution on the easing of sanctions in terms of coronavirus is immoral and sacrilegious, said the speaker of Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko.

“Those countries that blocked the adoption of the Declaration in such critical conditions now taking place in the world, has been immoral and inhumane, I’d say blasphemous,” – said Matvienko in the air “Russia 24”.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that the country has blocked in the UN Russian resolution on easing the sanctions regime in the period of the pandemic. As noted earlier, the Russian permanent mission at the UN, April 22, a group of Western and joined them States prevented the adoption of a proposed Russian draft of the UN Declaration on solidarity in fighting the coronavirus. Co-authors of the project were 34 countries of the UN. The document urged to abandon the use of unilateral economic sanctions against developing countries.

“Now we must overcome all differences, including ideological. This is because developing States, which were now in a most difficult situation,” – said Matvienko.
