While major sporting events over the summer have been cancelled or postponed, then it is not the case with the Tour de France.

Yet in any case.

But now there is much, which suggests that an exposure of the world’s biggest cycle race comes in. According to an internal email, sent by the French newspaper L’equipe, writes Reuters.

“The current focus is on a exposure later in the summer rather than a cancellation,” it says in the email, which Reuters has obtained insight in.

the Email is supposedly sent by the French newspaper L’Equipes own printing house, which is owned by the same family that owns the ASO (the Tour de France organizers, ed.).

When the message on this year’s Tour de France, plans come, however, so far in the dark.

“The unpredictable nature of this global crisis, we all are trapped in, means that we have to be patient, until ASO comes with an official announcement,” it says further in the email.

The Danish world champion Mads Pedersen has previously stated that the Tour de France in 2020 – according to him – is not an unthinkable scenario:

“I think the Tour is reasonable and realistic. Perhaps move the race a week or two, starting in July, now that there is space in the calendar, after the OLYMPICS have moved.”

the Organisers of the Tour de France did not wish to comment on the subject of the content or the plans for the Tour to Reuters.

Until another is announced, must the Tour de France wound down in the period between 27. June and 19. July in 2020.

Other cycling races such as Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, tour of Flanders Around and Milan-Sanremo, have all been canceled as a result of the coronavirus and will therefore not held in the course of 2020. Events such as the OLYMPICS and the european championships in football are, in turn, been postponed, and will be, according to the plan, held in the summer of 2021.
