Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has said it is ready to hold a referendum in the country on the fact of his resignation. The corresponding statement he made in the framework of the speech, which was broadcasted on Twitter.

According to him, the referendum could take place in 2022.

The politician added that the meeting is necessary to collect a certain number of signatures, which he plans on 10 January 2022. The President stressed that the supporters of the idea of holding a referendum "to revoke the mandate of President Maduro" can "take to the streets and collect signatures of citizens".
