President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said about wanting to return the country under the lash and dress in sandals, BelTA has learned.

Speaking at the opening of the memorial complex on the site of the burned by the Nazi occupiers of the village Ola, Lukashenko said, I never thought in a peaceful and independent Belarus will again have to talk about the need to defend the country’s sovereignty.

According to him, there are a lot of people who will try to “meddle” in the Affairs of Belarus, — out of envy or because they do not like the Belarusian nation, which is pursuing its independent course.

“We do not have to allow once again to bring us back under the whip and dress in sandals,” he said and urged citizens not to relax.

Earlier, Lukashenko spoke about the attempts to organize in Belarus Maidan and “break the country”.
