Quebec screenwriter, actor and director Eric K. Boulianne received the Pardi di domani Best Director Award at the Locarno International Film Festival for his short film Faire un enfant.

For the jury of the festival, “the audacious realization of this filmmaker results in a short drama which turns out to be tender, personal, hilarious and finely calibrated. »

Faire un enfant is a minimalist dramatic comedy, whose screenplay and direction are signed by Boulianne, who also plays one of the two main roles opposite Florence Blain Mbaye. They play a couple in their thirties deciding to start a family and trying to preserve their love over the course of their many trials.

“I usually say I’m a screenwriter, but with this award I guess I can say I’m also a director. So, thanks to the jury for the nice pat on the back! “Reacted Eric K. Boulianne by way of press release.

His film will have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), in official competition in the Short Cuts section.
