Lawyer Elman Pashayev, representing the interests of the actor Mikhail Yefremov, promised a sensation in court. Thus he answered the question of the correspondent of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” about whether he plans to prove that the driver was a different person.

He added that he would like for the defendant trial by jury, but the article on which judge Ephraim does not provide for this form of proceedings. “If only you had the chance, I would have immediately asked for it, especially with the evidence that I have collected”, — said Pashayev.
During the same interview, the defender admitted that he tuned in to the acquittal of Ephraim. He explained that in his experience, there was a similar case that ended with the release.
Ephraim was charged on the case about the accident in the center of Moscow as regards 4 articles 264 of the criminal code (“Violation of traffic rules, entailed on imprudence death of the person”). The maximum penalty is 12 years imprisonment.
The accident occurred on 8 June. Machine of Ephraim, who was in an alcohol intoxication, has left on an oncoming lane and crashed into a van whose driver, Sergey Zakharov, died in the hospital due to blood loss. The artist himself was not injured, he was sent under house arrest until August 9.
