foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that some Western countries and their allies are forbidden to turn to Russia for help in combating the pandemic coronavirus. He told about it in an article for the Chinese edition of Global Times, reports TASS.

According to him, the situation with the ban reached “absurd accusations” against Russia in the desire to use humanitarian and medical assistance for strengthening of geopolitical influence. “Contrary to basic diplomatic norms humiliating prohibitions to appeal to Russia for medical-humanitarian assistance,” — said Lavrov.

He said that thus, it appears that the “solidarity of the Euro-Atlantic sample” was more than the lives and health of tens of thousands of people.

In late April, Lavrov stated that some countries of Europe and NATO can’t ask Russia for help in fighting the coronavirus because of the ban from “senior comrades”. According to him, Moscow knows that there are a number of countries that would like to ask for cooperation. He noted that we are talking about certain types of assistance in which Russia really has a good comparative advantage.
