Lavrov praised relations between Russia and Georgia

MOSCOW, 21 APR – RIA Novosti. Russia is ready to consider opening of sales offices in Georgia, if there is an offer from the Georgian authorities, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“the Trade mission also suggest the presence of some agreements. I don’t think this would add some additional benefit if we open a trade mission, but if we are offered, we definitely will consider this opportunity,” Lavrov said during an online communication with the participants of the round table Foundation for the support of public diplomacy by A. Gorchakov.

Between Russia and Georgia exists of diplomatic relations, the dialogue between the two countries were supported in the framework of the Geneva discussions held in 2012 in Prague. Relations between the two countries was broken by the Georgian side after Moscow August 26, 2008 recognized the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

the Georgian-Russian relations deteriorated after Tbilisi has protested against the visit of the Russian deputies who took part in the international conference of the Orthodoxy. The capital of Georgia in June last year swept the protest. Against this background, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree banning Russian airlines air transportation of citizens from Russia to Georgia on July 8 and recommended the tour operators and agents to sell tours to this country.
