Pandemic coronavirus has become another exhortation to humility, by showing that before the big trouble equal of the country and the people. “Coronaries literally otselul all far-fetched and superficial, clearly demonstrating the intrinsic value of human life”, – stated in the article Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov to the Chinese newspaper Global Times.

the Rapid spread COVID-19 changed the rhythm of life on the planet, subjected to the test of strength of international relations. Speaking about the obvious consequences of the pandemic, the foreign Minister said economic recession, the crisis of global governance, rising protectionist and isolationist sentiments, as well as restrictions on humanitarian, cultural and tourist exchanges and contacts between people. And this is only the tip of the iceberg, Lavrov stressed.

Pass the test of pandemic was not all ready. Even in the conditions when a global challenge would be to unite and force at least temporarily to forget about the contradictions that again felt predatory approaches, the Minister said. Not everyone can resist the temptation to act on the principle “every man for himself”, there are those who try to take advantage of the current situation for the promotion of selfish interests, of settling accounts with the geopolitical competitors.

For the inevitable natural consequences of the proliferation COVID-19 and added “handmade”, provoked by the failure of a certain part of humanity to stop thinking in the spirit of “friend or foe” even in the face of a total disaster. But overcoming only objective, the obvious today the effects of coronavirus requires unprecedented solidarity, concentration of power and resources, emphasizes the Minister.

Pandemic revealed a lack of humanism. “This could be attributed to confused in the face of expanding threats. However, it looks like the deficit is deep and true due to the incurable selfishness of some countries and their ruling elites” – said Lavrov. As an example, he cited attempts to lay the blame for the spread of infection in China, as well as speculation about Russian assistance to a number of States, and the absurd accusations against Russia in the desire to use humanitarian and medical assistance for “the strengthening of geopolitical influence”.
