The eighth since the end of March large-scale disinfection will take place in Moscow on may 16. This was reported on Friday the Deputy mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov.

"Regular large-scale disinfection of all roads and public spaces will take place in Moscow on Saturday 16 may. The main objective of disinfection is the prevention of the spread of coronavirus infection. The epidemiological situation remains difficult, and disinfection, according to experts, one of the most effective means of prevention," – said Biryukov.

He explained that housing and communal services is carried out similar works each week since late March. Holding a city disinfection takes about four hours, during this time, specialists of the urban center needs to process more than 300 million square metres the works are carried out on all asphalt and tile surfaces of all roads, sidewalks, Parking lots, yards and interquarter drives. Special attention is given to processing of territories of medical institutions, spaces at the metro entrances and buildings of entrances to stations, transport hubs and public transport stops, pedestrian crossings, public toilets, areas of the MFC.

In disinfection will be attended by about 70 thousand employees of public utilities. All will be involved over 4.5 thousand units watering equipment and 8.3 thousand different sprays.
