North Korean Leader Kim Jong-UN took part in commemorative events on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the signing of the armistice agreement in the Korean war. This day is a national holiday in North Korea and is officially known as victory Day in the Fatherland liberation war.

According to the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea, Kim Jong-UN visited the cemetery of combatants and laid flowers in memory of the victims. Also, the North Korean leader has awarded a number of military commanders of the Korean people’s army premium guns, writes TASS.

the Fighting on the Korean Peninsula began on 25 June 1950 and ended on 27 July 1953 with the signing of the armistice agreement. However, technically the Korean war is not stopped to this day, as a full peace Treaty was not signed.

Earlier it was reported that nearly two thirds of South Koreans are in favor of holding another inter-Korean summit. The survey was conducted July 14-15 by the South Korean company Research and Research commissioned by the local newspaper “Seoul Sinmun” among 1,000 adult citizens of South Korea. It was found that 64.8 per cent of respondents supported the idea about the need for another personal meeting between ROK President moon Jae-in, Chairman of the state Council of the DPRK Kim Jong Inom. According to supporters of this idea of the summit, the summit will help to reduce tension in inter-Korean relations.
