The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged to tighten sanctions against Russia because of a vote on amendments to the Constitution in the Crimea, reports TASS.

In a statement the Ministry’s report said that “Ukraine strongly condemns the illegal organization” voting in the Crimea and uncontrolled territories of Kiev Donbass. According to the Ukrainian side, the vote in these areas is contrary to “fundamental norms and principles of international law”, and the results of the plebiscite “will be null and void and will have no legal consequences.”

The foreign Ministry called on the international community to condemn organising the vote, “including by strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation”.

As reported by “the Rambler”, 25 June Russia began a nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution. The voting will last seven days – until July 1, inclusive.
