Since August this year, the company plans to begin production of trucks of environmental class “Euro 6” for the Russian market. At the moment, KAMAZ is completing the certification process.

“Despite the fact that currently in Russia there are environmental regulations, appropriate to the level of “Euro-5”, the company is ready since August to begin production of trucks “Euro-6”, – quotes the press service of the plant the CEO of the automaker Sergey Kogogin. Today we supply the equipment of the Russian production to European countries, and we have the ability to produce for the domestic consumers.

Production is planned to start at the plant “KAMAZ”, and in the capacity of a joint venture with Daimler. In addition, in the framework of the obligations under the special investment contract the automaker has developed a R6 engine, which will be installed in the new range of cars. It is expected that these engines will also be brought to the level of Euro 6.

this year, the auto giant planned to implement 29 thousand cars in the Russian market and more than 6 thousand foreign. But such predictions have been voiced by the leadership of KAMAZ before the pandemic. Whether these plans are adjusted in the current economic climate, is still unknown.
