Miroslav Klose starts his first job as head coach at a professional club. The job comes as a surprise – but the world champion is ready for the new task.
Surprising job in Austria: The Austrian Bundesliga club SCR Altach introduced Mirsolav Klose as their new head coach on Sunday. As “Sky” reports, the announcement triggered such hype that the club’s website was briefly overloaded. The club last caused such a stir when it signed Werder legend Ailton in 2008.

Great anticipation of a new challenge: Klose emphasizes that he is ready for the challenge in the town of 7,000 near Lake Constance. “I’m really looking forward to my new job here in Altach,” said the 44-year-old. “I can’t wait to get to know the team, the people at the club and of course the fans.”
First chief post for storm legend: For Klose, the job at SCR Altach is his first job as head coach at a professional club. So far he had only trained the U17s of FC Bayern. He was also an assistant to Joachim Löw for the German national team and under Hansi Flick for Bayern Munich.
