last weekend in two major cities on the US West coast – Seattle and Portland – authorities officially announced the “riots”. In the first metropolis and capital of the state of Washington law enforcement officers arrested 47 demonstrators, stones, fireworks and laser pointers which injured almost 60 police officers. The second administrative center in Oregon at the beginning of the week was marked by stabbing among the protesters. Several hundred people rioted at the Federal courthouse, which was the epicentre of clashes in the city. The police dispersed the crowd a few hours.
Meanwhile, the US administration is stepping up the presence of Federal agents in Portland and several other major cities, where they are sent to guard the buildings owned by the Federal government, and reduce crime. As protesters and local mayors-Democrats sharply criticized Federal law enforcement for the hard use of force. The heads of several cities demanded from the US Congress to prohibit the White house on these measures.
Over the past week, local authorities of a number of U.S. States and cities failed to take control of the spontaneous actions of activists of the movement “Black life is important”, the riots and the explosive growth of crime.
