Tragic incident in south-east France: five people died in a small plane crash there on Saturday. The dead are believed to be family members.

Five people died when a small plane crashed in south-eastern France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on Saturday. As the French news broadcaster BFMTV reported with reference to the local police, the accident happened in a clearing near the town of Adrets in the Isère department.

The small aircraft of the type Jodel D140 belonged to a flying club and completed a maiden flight. It took off from Versoud airfield near Grenoble. According to information from the regional broadcaster France 3, the fatalities could be a family of four adults and one child.
