This caches, hosted by Bandera in the middle of last century, accidentally found in Western Ukraine. Buried 70 years ago the cans were documents, books and even the “crust” of the NKVD, who apparently had infiltrated the ranks of the OUN, but which they are calculated.

According to the news Agency Tsna in the Lviv region, in the vicinity of the Previous few Amateur “archeologists” – the searchers historical treasures, came across a very interesting object: artifacts hidden in the ground by members of the illegal Organization of Ukrainian nationalists – Ukrainian insurgent army (OUN-UPA prohibited in Russia, an extremist organization).

As said in an interview with one of the members of this “expedition” Andrew Savka, he and his friends went just commuter “walk”, not expecting to find something worthwhile. However, when the “diggers” began to sweep with his metal detector in the woods near the city outskirts, the instrument filed in one place a very encouraging signal in the ground hidden by a large metal object. They began to dig and at a small depth found two tightly closed metal cans.

When they removed the cover, it became clear that these makeshift safes filled with old papers. There were some protocols, lists, books, magazines and Newspapers, dated 1940s – 1950s years… the Most cursory study of the artifacts suggested that all this wealth belonged to before Bandera illegal immigrants from OUN-UPA in the postwar period fought in this region against the Soviets. Apparently, when the OUN felt that they now will be covered, they decided to hide thus your files in a safe place.

Interestingly, among the other papers in the can were also the military ticket issued in 1948 to a certain employee of the security organs. Searchers have suggested that the security officer under the guise of a fictional legend, “tried to break into the ranks of the UPA”.

Found the cache and not the search engines themselves became thoroughly examine all the contents dug out of their cans. “We are particularly not revised, because it is a national treasure. If the wrong approach can destroy the documents”, – explained Andriy Savka. His discovery of the “diggers” was transferred to the local city historical Museum. Soon found the cache, documents need to be sent for restoration, then you can be more detailed understanding of what information they kept for us all these seven decades.

the Current mostysky “treasure” is not the first discovery of this kind. Bandera loved, it turns out, to hide my “accounts” under the ground in all sorts of cans and boxes. Such a conclusion can be drawn by analyzing information on underground cachesx identified in the Western Ukrainian region in recent years.

for Example, in the winter of 2019, the cans with the documents of the UPA dug up three residents of the city of Rohatyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The “treasure” they found, too, quite by accident in the forest between the villages of Ruda and ravens. “We came into the woods to have a good time, and fate gave the Old New year is such a gift. We decided to excavate the find, to make sure it is not empty. Opened, saw the history textbook and documents of the UPA, so took everything with him,” said one of the lucky hunters, explaining that the cans were buried relatively shallowly – was 15-20 santimetrov from the surface of the earth. These artifacts were donated to the local Museum. Preliminary study of the local experts has shown that paper is still a bit affected by mold and rust and require restoration, but it is clear: the documents date from about 1945.

Another Bandera cans showed up in the middle of January 2013 on Ternopolschina, near the town of Chortkiv. The find was made by a local pensioner Vladimir Marmus. On the assurances of the “treasure hunt” about the existence of such archive of the OUN in the forest he at the time told local grandma – a former messenger of the UPA.

“She drew a diagram in the woods where the rebels hid the files. People have already tried to search, but to no avail. I took this passion. I thought that there are interesting documents found” – said Markus, adding that the search he had to spend three days. – “At a depth of 30 centimeters found the can. Similar to the Soviet, in which milk is kept, but the German iron. One wall has rusted…”

Through the formed holes in the cans leaked ground water, but still part of were in papers survived. It was the archive of one of the detachments of the UPA. Here is preserved a list of its members with short biographical information, as well as the Ukrainian karbovanets, postcards, personal letters, compiled, apparently the team leader, “protocols” about the life of individual soldiers. All these artifacts eventually ended up in regional archives.
