In the Turkish province of Antalya have unearthed the statue of a woman was created 1700 years ago. An important discovery was made among the ruins of the ancient city of Perge, according to Hurriyet Daily News.

The statue belongs to the Hellenistic period. She was the first that was able to detect in 2020.

A woman dressed in a long robe, but her head, unfortunately, was broken. After the completion of archaeological works the sculpture of the III century ad placed in a local Museum.

Archaeological excavations in the ancient city was systematically conducted by Istanbul University since 1946, and in 2009 they made in the preliminary UNESCO world heritage list. In Perge often find statues, many of which belong to women – they played an important role in the life of the city and could hold important positions.
