So, in the last academic year increased enrollment in the Tomsk technical schools and colleges – more than 800 people. This tendency, as the Governor said, should continue this year.

Particular emphasis is placed on interaction with employers, as professional pupils, new skills emerge and develop through the applications from industries, demand of employers for certain specialists.

– We are increasing the demand for graduates of colleges and technical schools. In the past few years, this figure rose to 70 percent. That’s a lot, but we still have room to grow, something to work together with heads of the enterprises, – said Sergey Zhvachkin. – Finally, we are successfully reviving not only the prestige of working professions, but also the great Soviet tradition of mentoring. What mentoring will allow the young people to take in the profession, to gain a foothold in enterprises, to become good specialists.

In the coordinating Council was attended by the Deputy head of the region, heads of educational organizations, and leading employers.

According to the Department of vocational education of the Tomsk region, training according to programs of secondary professional education are 29 regional educational and private institutions, as well as branches and structural divisions of the universities.
