The Kremlin was not aware of the plans of Sergey Furgala to write a letter of resignation from the post of Governor of Khabarovsk Krai on their own, said press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“No, these plans were not known,” — Peskov said, answering the relevant question.

On 22 July, the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky during a speech in the state Duma said that shortly before his arrest, Sergei Furgal was going to resign as head of the Khabarovsk region. According to Zhirinovsky, he talked Furgala to do it.

Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin dismissed arrested the Governor of Khabarovsk territory Sergey Furgala in connection with loss of trust.

In early July, Furgal was detained within a legal investigation of the killings of businessmen in 2004-2005.
