In a Botanical garden, Baltic Federal University of Kant for the first time in 61 years the flowers bloom Magnolia evergreen. About it reports a press-service of the University.

the Plant was “born” in 1959, and in 1964, the five-year seedling moved to Kaliningrad from the arboretum of the Georgian town of Tskhaltubo. Huge buds, four of them appeared for the first time.

Flowering evergreen Magnolia became the Kaliningrad Botanical garden event. The flowers of this plant are one of the largest on Earth, their diameter can reach 20-25 inches. As recognized by staff, Magnolia literally amazed them with his splendor.

the nature of the evergreen Magnolia (or grandiflora) is found in the South-Eastern United States, from North Carolina to Florida and Texas. The Kaliningrad winter for it is too cold, so it grows in subtropical greenhouse.
