In the Baltic fleet on August 12 held a commemorative event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the death of the nuclear submarine missile cruiser “Kursk”.

In Kaliningrad, commemorative events were held in the branch VUNTS Navy “naval Academy”, reported in Department of information support the press service of the Western military district for the Baltic fleet. On “Kursk” were killed, five officers – graduates of the University.

From the last campaign in the Barents sea did not return captain 3 rank Andrey Silogava, captain-Lieutenant Oleg Nasikovsky and Boris Geletin, the senior Lieutenant Alexander Gudkov and Sergey Fitterer. On-site branch of the Academy there is a memorial plate with their names.
