In the Murmansk region began reclamation of large waste storage facility in a former poultry farm “snow”, which ceased to exist about 15 years ago. This was reported in the regional Ministry of natural resources and environment. The total cost of the project – more than 461 million.

They are located near the river Cola, which is one of the main sources of drinking water for more than half a million residents of the Kola Peninsula. During the existence of the poultry farm they had accumulated about 200 thousand tons of chicken manure. The dam protects the river Coke from falling into it waste, however, during spring and autumn floods it repeatedly had outbursts that were quickly resolved. Over the years, the dam is aging, and the risk of pollution of the river increases, therefore, from the storehouses, it was decided to remove it permanently.

water from the ponds is expected to be pumped via the floating pumping stations and flowing through the filters. In a purified form, safe for health, it will be discharged into waters. When the water in the ponds will remain, they’ll be covered with natural soil. Then this territory will plant and prosper.
