State research center of Virology and biotechnology “Vector” of Rospotrebnadzor plans to begin clinical trials of a vaccine against coronavirus at the end of June. This was reported by General Director of Rinat Maksyutov, noting that work is carried out in accordance with the approved program.

Experts will begin research on June 29 after receiving the results of specific activity and safety of vaccines on animals, and permission from the Ministry of health, native said in an interview with TASS. According to him, the sensitive animals were tested 25 variants of vaccines. For clinical trials selected three drugs, performing and also taking into account the manufacturability of their large-scale production.

Previously, Director of SIC of epidemiology and Microbiology N.F. Gamalei Alexander Ginzburg expressed the hope that mass vaccination of the population of Russia from COVID-19 could begin in the fall. However, to simultaneously vaccinate the entire population will fail. “Our best scenario is that it will take six months – seven – eight – nine months,” – said the scientist.
