the St. Petersburg engineers have developed the first in Russia to repair the laser system to service vessels operating in the Arctic zone. As reported TASS with reference to the rector of Saint-Petersburg state marine technical University (SPbSMTU) of Gleb Turichin, with its help it is possible to create or to repair parts of the ship and machinery weighing up to several hundred kilograms.

According to the rector, the technology allows you to use a variety of materials – including steel and metal alloys, and the method of laser direct cultivation to produce screws, brackets, products of ship mechanical engineering. In addition, you can build the lost in the operation process, the part detail. The speed of growing is up to two kilograms per hour.

Technology was made for use in Arctic conditions. After all, even simple mechanisms, which in the North are broken or have been lost completely, can only be ordered from the mainland – said Turicin. – You have to drag items across the country: a lot of money and time, especially if we talk about the icebreakers. Our installation can be placed even on Board the ship to mobile and fast enough to restore the mechanisms. In addition, the device is able to work with materials that are intended for use at low temperatures.

the Project of repair of the laser system was designed for ship-repair plant “star”, located in Severodvinsk. The first made the installation allows to grow product maximum size 1200х1200х800мм.
